We are searching for an experienced Team Leader, NBS TA Facility in a SICA country.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The position
Palladium is seeking to engage a Team Leader for the development of a market study of the landscape of nature-positive and climate-resilient business operations in forest landscapes of the SICA countries, a scoping analysis of the ecosystem of global and regional investors, and the design of Technical Facilities for Business and for Investors TAF-I.
The Team Leader plays a pivotal role in the successful execution and strategic coherence of this assignment. As the primary coordinator and driving force behind a multidisciplinary team of consultants, the Team Leader will oversee the design and delivery of key outputs. By defining the delivery strategy, brokering research efforts, and ensuring the quality of all outputs, the Team Leader ensures that the project meets its ambitious objectives with rigor and alignment to stakeholder expectations. This position is critical not only for managing internal coherence and project delivery, but also for building trust and securing commitments from diverse stakeholders across the SICA region—including investors, beneficiaries, co-financiers, and implementation partners.
The role is envisioned as full-time, with the option of part-time engagement depending on the final timeline and specifications outlined in the tender documentation.
This position will be offered to the selected candidate upon Palladium being successful in their proposal to the tender to deliver the study. Final details regarding level of effort (LOE), duration, and timeline will be adjusted once the tender is officially released.
Study context
The study will be part of the preparatory studies for the development of a full Green Climate Fund programme proposal titled “Regional financing solutions for adaptation and mitigation in the Great Forests of Central America and the Dominican Republic”. The Central America Great Forests Program aims to create a transformative shift in forest conservation and climate resilience across Central America and the Dominican Republic. By aligning and strengthening institutional and regulatory frameworks and accelerating innovative financing through coordinated investments in conservation, restoration, and nature-positive businesses, the Programme seeks to enhance the resilience and adaptive capacity of Indigenous Peoples and local communities (IPLCs), reduce CO2 emissions and protect tropical forest biodiversity.
Geographical scope of study : Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama

Primary Responsibilities

- A comprehensive market study of the landscape of nature-positive and climate resilient business operations in forest landscapes in the Programme target areas in the eight countries
- A comprehensive scoping analysis of the ecosystem of investors and design with relevant stakeholders the governance structure
- Design with relevant stakeholders of the governance structure and operational guidelines for the regional Technical Assistance Facility for Business (TAF-B).
- Design with relevant stakeholders of the governance structure operational guidelines for the regional Technical Assistance Facility for Investors (TAF-I) and Network of Investors
- Obtention of letters of interest from co-implementers (TAF-B), investors (TAF-I), beneficiaries (TAF-I) and co-financiers of both facilities
- Manage the team
- Define the delivery strategy of the piece of work
- Brokering the research and other relevant activities among the team
- Assessing and reviewing the material created, ensuring maximum quality of delivery
- Organise and lead project meetings with the team, the Client, the Project Director, Palladium Advisors
- Organise and lead meetings with stakeholders including investors, co-implementers, beneficiaries and co-financiers.
Required Qualifications:
The Team Leader Should Have Significant Experience In
- Nature based solutions implementation, advisory or financing in at least six of the eight countries within the scope of the study
- Fundraising and business plan development for nature-based solutions towards and investor audience
- Multistakeholder work in the SICA countries
- Policy development or analysis in the spaces of forestry, agriculture, and/or any other related activity that impacts directly or indirectly forests
- Indigenous Peoples and local communities' engagement practices in the SICA region
To successfully fulfil this role, the Team Leader must count with:
- A deeply developed stakeholder network in the SICA countries
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Full fluency in Spanish and English
- Full fluency in the use of basic communication and analysis tools – MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Excel
