- Supplier Development and Management
- Identify, evaluate, and certify new suppliers based on manufacturing capabilities, quality, cost, lead time, and service.
- Assess supplier capabilities in casting, welding, fabrication, forging, machining, and related processes.
- Manage supplier communication, negotiate terms, and resolve payment or quality issues.
- Quotation Process
- Organize and manage the quotation process for new products and product modifications.
- First Article Development
- Lead business negotiations including pricing, contracts, and lead times.
- Oversee the development of first articles to ensure standards and mature processes are met.
- Process Optimization
- Implement cost control measures and process innovations to enhance efficiency and maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Coordination with U.S. and China Offices
- Work closely with the China-based production team to align supplier standards, production timelines, logistics, and commercial goals.
- Provide timely updates and reports to senior leadership and direct supervisors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in engineering or procurement are preferred.
- Languages: Proficient in English and Spanish (or other local languages); Mandarin is a strong plus.
- Experience: 5–10+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management roles in metal manufacturing.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- A strong, trusted network of metal manufacturing suppliers.
- Deep understanding of procurement processes, raw materials, and machining.
- Proven supplier management and first article development experience.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Travel: Ability to travel to supplier sites and other locations as needed.
