Position: Upper School Auxiliary Math Teacher
Level: Upper School - (7th -12th grade)
Location: Campus - Zone 13, Guatemala City
Schedule: 7:30 am – 2:30 pm
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Purpose of the Auxiliary Math teacher is to work in one-on-one or small group settings with students who require special assistance in math. The Auxiliary Math teacher works directly with the Upper School Principal and Primary Math Teacher to identify areas each student needs to work on and set and execute an individualized plan of study for each student.
General Responsibilities
Prepare, plan, and execute classes for students based on individual needs
Work with the primary math teacher and principal to identify areas of need for each student
Meet with parents and/or specialists as needed to help ensure that student academic, social and emotional needs are being met
Track and record student progress
Teach SAT/ACT math to Juniors (11th Grade)
Attend weekly teacher meetings
Assist primary math teacher with grading/assessing student work
Act as Keystone Program mentor to students as needed (12th Grade)
Cover classes as needed
Uphold all EAS protocols and policies
Qualifications
Studies: At least four semesters of Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Physics or other Math related career
Fluent in English with strong written communication skills
Strong digital literacy skills
Experience Teaching Preferred
Personal Characteristics
Excellent personal presentation
Models professional, ethical behavior, and maturity.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated
Demonstrates strong work ethic to achieve academic goals
Planning and time management skills
